Ian Huckabee, Co-founder and CEO of WeejeeLearning.
Weejeelearning provides corporate instructional design services in elearning, social learning, and mobile learning. Weejee learning is a relatively small and young consultancy company but have already developed a marketable portfolio. Developing and maintaining an elearning department in-house is a costly practice. Weejee relies on the strategic decision to outsource elearning development and learning management system needs to dedicated instructional designer and technologist professionals in order to save time and money, as well as free up internal resources to focus on core operations. Although there is nothing exceptionally original about offering elearning services, there is plenty of market space in the growing industry. In addition, WeeJee learning differentiates from most competitors by focusing on mobile and social learning.
Ian Huckabee has a strong background in entrepreneurship in media production. He possess and undergraduate degree in Economics. He began his professional career at Sony Music Entertainment as the Vice President of Audio Operations and Marketing. In 2004 he founded Weejee Media which focuses on social media consulting, communications, marketing, customer service, and recruitment. In 2010 he launched WeejeeLearning specializing in adult learning – seemingly a sidestep from his skill set. Although Huckabee does not have a background in education, he has built a team that does. Co-founder, Tracy Bissette has a M.Ed and has worked with major global companies providing instructional design services. They have a team of well qualified instructional designers, developers, animation artists who create engaging learning experiences.
eLearning and Mobile learning is largely a media production process. Ian’s background in media productions and business is a good match to lead a team of educators. His experience in running a start-up, enthusiasm, and focus on the horizon of elarning (mobile and social), makes him well qualified to lead this company.
